The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) announced this Wednesday a new round of grants for projects and programs related to bitcoin (BTC). Among them, the Satoshi Bookstore stands out, a Latin American initiative that promotes technical education of this digital asset.
According to informed By the organization focused on protecting freedom and human rights, the Satoshi Bookstore will receive almost 1 BTC or USD 25,000, in support of the entity’s efforts for making technical education reach all possible Spanish speakers.
HRF assured that the grant will also allow Spanish-speaking developers to become Bitcoin Core contributors, Bitcoin technical educators, developer advocates, and ecosystem entrepreneurs.
“Satoshi Bookstore will use the grant money to offer Bitcoin and Lightning courses,” HRF added in a statement reported by Bitcoin Magazine.
The Satoshi Library is an educational program focused on the technical teaching of Bitcoin and lightning networkwhich is the micropayment solution of the first of the cryptocurrencies. This institution is present in 25 countries and has graduated, so far, more than 140 developers.
This is not the first time that the Satoshi Bookstore has received donations for its educational efforts in Latin America. At the beginning of September, that organization received USD 500 denominated in bitcoin by Geyser Fund, as reported by CriptoNoticias.
In addition to the Satoshi Bookstore, the Human Rights Foundation granted subsidies to another Latin American bitcoiner project, such as Vinteum, a platform designed for developers.
According to HRF, this open source platform that operates in Brazil and the rest of the region, you will receive almost 2 bitcoins or USD 50,000, according to the price of cryptocurrency today. These funds are expected to be used to help developers in Latin America make contributions to Bitcoin Core in. HRF launches new grants

In total, HRF allocated for this new round almost half a million dollars (USD 500,000), which is equivalent to almost 20 bitcoins. Scholarships range from USD 10,000, through USD 25,000 and up to USD 50,000, all denominated in BTC.
Many of the projects awarded by HRF are based in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, where there are initiatives focused on continuing to contribute to the development of Bitcoin technology and the Lightning network.
HRF included Bitcoin developers in its new round of grants, like Jarol Rodríguez, Justin Moeller and Amiti Uttarwar. Other projects such as Summer of Bitcoin and the Kawaakibi Foundation, all focused on BTC and its technology, also benefited.
Another HRF scholarship recipient was Bitcoin Ekasithe bitcoiner citadel that is in South Africa. This initiative will receive USD 25,000 in bitcoin for their work creating and developing a BTC-based circular economy.
HRF claims that this money will be used to onboard new local businesses to Bitcoin, as well as pay salaries to workers, instructors, and other members of the citadel.. It will also be used to run a skills development centerwhere they hope to impart practical knowledge about bitcoin.
HRF has been running its donation program for several months. The most recent round it was in maywhen 12 bitcoin-related projects received several thousand dollars denominated in BTC for their contributions to the development of the ecosystem.
