Mercado Libre present ante la Comisin Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia (CNDC) una denuncia contra los principales bancos de la Argentina por concentracin prohibida, cartelizacin y prcticas coordinadas destinadas a perjudicar a la industria fintech y sus usuarios, que en definitiva es un cuestionamiento hacia la puesta en marcha de la unificacin del pago con QR.

La denuncia apunta a 36 bancos que son los creadores de la red MODO, que busca competir en el sistema de pago con Mercado Libre.

La empresa que dirige Marcos Galpern resiste de este modo la decisin del Banco Central de permitir el pago a travs de QR en forma unificada en cualquiera de las plataformas.

Para Mercado Libre MODO fue creada con el objetivo de limitar la competencia entre los propios bancos y de obstaculizar el crecimiento de empresas fintech.

“La billetera MODO nunca notific ni solicit autorizacin a la CNDC para operar en forma conjunta. De esta manera los bancos estn infringiendo la ley de defensa de la competencia”, seal ML.

La empresa afirm que “para crear MODO los bancos restablecen la concentracin anticompetitiva que haba sido desarticulada con el caso PRISMA, y una vez ms queda claro que “su principal motivacin es coordinarse para obstaculizar a toda costa a las empresas Fintech usando los mismos mecanismos del pasado”.

Mercado Libre afirm que “los 36 bancos que son parte de la billetera MODO conforman un cartel para evitar competir entre s con sus propias billeteras digitales”.

“En lugar de desarrollar tecnologa y generar mejores productos, decidieron concentrarse en MODO, que les permite ponerse de acuerdo en sus estrategias comerciales y evitar la competencia por los comercios que se afilien a sus promociones y por los montos de descuentos y reintegros que ofrecen a sus consumidores”, concluy.
